Adding Inquiries as references

Inquiries can now be linked to one another by adding them as Reference Entities. When you add an Inquiry as a Reference Entity on one Inquiry, the system automatically updates the other Inquiry to reflect the link. For example, if you add the Inquiry IP00000000 as a Reference Entity to Inquiry IP12345678, InquiryPoint will automatically add IP12345678 as a Reference Entity to IP00000000.

To add an Inquiry as a Reference Entity:

  1. Select (Edit) on the Inquiry Information tab.

  2. Scroll down to the Reference Entity section.

  3. Select Entity Type, and then select Inquiry Number.

  4. Enter the Inquiry Number, and then select (check mark).

Important: You must enter the Inquiry Number as IP########. The Inquiry Number must contain the letters IP and eight digits.

When you add an Inquiry as a Reference Entity, InquiryPoint automatically logs the action in the Inquiry Timeline. If you unlink the Inquiry, the system also creates a Timeline entry.
